Resurrection: Experiencing the Supernatural Jesus

At Campus by the Sea, you will enjoy the beauty of nature, fun activities, a great time meeting other students, and getting to know friends better.  Popular activities include kayaking, hiking, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, basketball, and eating really great food.

This weekend is open to all Bruins regardless of whether or not you consider yourself a Christian. There are scholarships available, so don’t let money stop you from coming!

About Jen Ball:

Jen Huerta Ball has a long and rich history with InterVarsity. She became a follower of Jesus at the end of her sophomore year at Pomona College. She says it was the best decision she ever made!  She has done some odd jobs like 2nd grade teacher, personal assistant to a crazy businessman, activities coordinator for an English language school and birth coach!  But mostly, she has spent the last 18 years or so working for IV with students across Greater Los Angeles.  Jen also served as the La Fe National Coordinator for InterVarsity. The Ball household is a multi-ethnic menagerie of personalities – Jen, her husband Jon, three kids (Susanna, Nathan & Michael), a dog (Molly)  and a beta fish (Patriot). Jen is a devoted I Love Lucy fan, Harry Potter geek, and enjoys chocolate.

Every year, our community comes together for a night filled with endless games, satisfying food, and pure fun! There will area competitions, large group games, plenty of Mafia and Signs, board games, video games, poker tournaments, and even a karaoke happy hour! From Friday night of September 30th til the early Saturday morning of October 1st, come join us in getting to know other new students while enjoying the memorable experience of Frosh Frenzy.

Details:

  • Meet at the bottom of Janss steps at 9:15 pm (or meet up with your area at 9 to walk down)
  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes
  • Bring your own fun games and stories to share with the group!
  • You will be back in the dorms by 9 am on Saturday

Come join us for a week after finals to be grow as individuals and as a community as we study God’s word together at beautiful Catalina Island.  For those of us that are new to our manuscript conferences you will be studying the gospel of Mark.  Other studies will include:  Mark 2, Mark 1 Repeaters, Prayer Seminar and Senior Seminar.  Its going to be a great way to end the year together and to start our summers off on the right foot.  It will be tons of fun and benefit all who come.  Register today!

The registration fee of $305 is a lot of money, but it will cover all of your major expenses for a week.  If for whatever reason you are unable to pay the entire amount, please submit a scholarship form so that we can try to help you out.  We don’t want money to be a barrier from you spending a week growing closer to God.

What is Mark Study?

Mark Study is an in-depth look at the life of Jesus.  During the course of the week you will meet with other students like yourself and study the biography of Jesus according to Mark.  It’s one of the best ways to discover for yourself who Jesus is, and what it means to follow him.  Mark 1 is the first half of this biography and it’s open to all students regardless of your spiritual background.  So whether you consider yourself a Christian or not, join us for one of the best experiences that InterVarsity has to offer.

I you would like to apply for a scholarship, complete the online registration, turn in the $75 deposit, and submit the scholarship form to the registrar or any BCF leader by Thurs, May 27.
